DID YOU KNOW???

That the following 5 people were in FOSTER CARE?

This sweet angel-came into the system because her mom took drugs while she was pregnant and she was born with a high content of methamphetamine and other drugs in her system. The older of these 2-ME had a young, unmarried birth mother that did the best thing possible for me & gave me up for adoption. I spent 4 months in foster care before my parents adopted me.

The younger gal in the picture "T" came into the system and spent 2 years there while her birth father was in prison for manufacturing methamphetamine. Her birth mom had no way to financially support her so she sacrificed her 2 children so they could be taken care of.Bean has the same story as "T". Spent 2 years in foster care and joined our family at age 5.Aw-Bell-born the 7th child to her meth addicted mother. Came to us at birth with a dangerously high content of methamphetamine in her system. Never really had a shot at going home. She spent almost a year here as a foster child before we were blessed with being able to adopt her. Did you know? That May is National Foster Care Month?
There are SO MANY things you can do to help the more than 490,000 kids in the U.S. foster care system.

SOMEONE needs to stand up for some of these kids like they did for ME!
I'm asking you to pray about it, see where God is leading you in the foster care area. It is a difficult yet rewarding experience. It's emotional-anything worth doing usually is.

AND REMEMBER...YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE PERFECT TO BE A PERFECT PARENT!

Guess Who?

Guess which one of the 6 littles got glasses....She refused to take them out of the case until we were ALL gathered round.. Here she is in her DISNEY PRINCESS glasses! This was the first pair she tried on and she LOVED THEM. Although I AM NOT A FAN OF ANYTHING with characters on it except P.J's-I adore these! Don't you just love the case? She even got a free pack of mints with her purchase! They are pink & purple with a little *BLING* on the side. And OFF SHE GOES... Our little My My-growing up into a big girl at 4. Oh how time flies!

CH CH CH CHANGES...

We've been having a lot of CHANGES goin' on ROUND HERE TODAY!

CHANGE #!...

Jamie offered to babysit the kids when she came in town this weekend to visit her parents for MDay. The Captain is KNEE-DEEP in planting soybeans right now and there was just no way for him to get away. SO..I took "T" out on a date to eat and shop. We closed down TJ MAXX, GORDMAN'S AND TARGET! We ended our night with some apple dippers and fries from McDonalds. We did a LOT of giggling! I'll share my bargains in a later post :)

Here we are ALL GUSSIED UP in our WAL-MART DRESSES READY 2 GO on our date!
Mine $14-T's $3 clearance 2 years ago.

Here we are at Panera Bread. T-with her MANGO SMOOTHIE and me with my ICED MOCHA!CHANGE #2...

Summer time for my boys means butchering... I MEAN...Mama DOES THEIR HAIR CUTS! All with a $5 kit from DOLLAR GENERAL! I figure if I mess up, it'll grow back right??? BEAN-the FIRST VICTIM...
BeforeAFTER
Change #3.....

BYE BYE BIRDIES! Our baby chicks ARE NO LONGER CUTE (and they stink up my garage)!! SO, my friend Deb and her daughter Liz came and took 10 of the 12 chickens to raise and then BUTCHER. I asked her if I could come and watch and she said "sure." Although I know I COULD NEVER KILL MY FRIEND-whether he tastes good or not! But it would be kind of cool to see her do it-I know I'm twisted.

So we have 2 hens that will be DOING THEIR THING and laying eggs hopefully in a few months (if they survive the dogs that is)!Change #4......

My My is NO LONGER AFRAID OF bugs, frogs or creepy crawlies! She was the only one of the 4 littles to BRAVE catching this frog today! SHE WAS SO PROUD OF HERSELF and her new friend "LUCY." Why "LUCY" you ask?
(if you look closely at Lucy's little front right hand-it is pressed up against the window just BEGGING for help!)When The CAPTAIN told her that we would have to let the frog LOOSE, this was the NO!!!! reaction followed by tears and her saying "I DON'T WANT TO LET HER LOOSEY." Then she smiled and said "that's it, I'll call her LUCY." Get it? CHANGE #5...THE ONE THAT BRINGS TEARS>>>>>
As I was shaving Bean and Bit But's heads, Our sweet little WY WY begged for a haircut. He goes to the same stylist I do, we have always been SO PROUD OF HIS HAIR. Let's face it, God gave the boy good hair! SO..I made the call to THE CAPTAIN (remember he's on tractor planting beans) and he gave the GO AHEAD.Here he is 1/2 way through the cut.He was itching from all the hair so I rinsed him off in the shower and VOILA!!!His baby curls are gone *sniff sniff*. He can still be a CHRISTIAN COUNTRY MUSIC ROCK STAR with short hair right?CHANGE #6....
Meet Kure. She has the same EXACT birthday/year as our little MY MY. For Mother's Day, I asked THE CAPTAIN if we could sponsor an ETHIOPIAN child through WORLD VISION for 1 year. THIS IS THE BEST GIFT I could ask for. My heart is with the orphan, it's INGRAINED In my SOUL.
Kure is 4 and has lost both parents to AIDS. She & 2 other siblings are cared for by her older teen brother. The $35 a month we send will help with food, shelter, medicine, school and all her basic needs. We will also be sending her LOTS of letters!
Praying you all have a FABULOUS and BLESSED Mother's Day! I have some surprises in store for my kids-I'll tell ya' later :)

My LIVING ROOM-Show us where you live FRIDAY!

NOTHING HAS CHANGED FROM LAST YEAR SO I am REPOSTING-ENJOY!

I am once again joining KELLY and participating in...... This week is LIVING ROOM WEEK! As you walk in our front door, this small living room is to the very right of the front door. I got this piano FREE off Craig's List. We covered our old popcorn ceilings with wood to match the new part of our house.Another view of the old living room. Hard to remember back to when all 9 of us crammed in here to watch TV and rock babies! Our house is ALL OPEN-this is the view of our GREAT ROOM from the front door. As you can see our kitchen, dining and living room is all in ONE-BONUS!
The thing I remember when I look at this pic is when THE CAPTAIN and I laid all this flooring (1600 sq ft) with 4 babies in tow-VERY INTERESTING to say the least.
I LOVE my black leather sectional-a MUST with 4 toddlers. PUKE, POOP, MILK, PEE, it all just wipes right off-so worth it!To the immediate left as you enter the GR is "THE PARKING SPOT" for all the riding toys. YES, we let our kids ride them all over this room like maniacs!
The ECHO will give you an instant headache if you aren't careful!I love our wood burning fireplace...MANY a S'MORE has been made here! ANOTHER VIEW.The view from the kitchen...One of my favorite items... Since my hubby is a pilot, we got these nifty "propeller" ceiling fans.
The blades go opposite ways when they are on-very COOL!I love our twig themed lighting from MENARD'S!I love the personalization of our fireplace with the "K" in the center. This cow skin rug came straight from BRAZIL..OFF EBAY :) LOVE IT!We found this clock out in one of the grain bins shortly after we moved here. My FIL can remember it being in use. Looks great on our mantel. This picture taken from the fireplace. You can see my command center in the background.
Behind the hanging star are 3 more rooms that we want to finish off one day into a loft. The name of the town we live in is actually HOME-yes its true. So anything with the word home on it, I snag up. This is one of my favorite signs. I get most all of my signs, home decor from either Gordman's or TJMAXX.The Captain and I give God all the glory for our beautiful home.
For none of this earthly stuff belongs to us anyway.
It is all truly HIS.
Thank you Lord for all you have provided for us.
Hope you enjoyed the TOUR!
