Since moving to the farm with THE CAPTAIN 7 years ago... MUCH has happened-we've been blessed with 6 kids, added on to our house, had 6 kids-oh, did I say that already?
Anyway, I have always wanted to explore the farm AND ITS CONTENTS a little more and have finally found the time. We have a barn, 2 grain bins and several buildings full of TREASURES!!! I could decorate 10 houses with all that I am finding!
THEREFORE, I am OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCING GBG-to showcase my re-vamping, restoration or destruction of these things I find beauty in. No antiques will be PURPOSELY destroyed during this process.
So today, the kids and I dug around a grain bin and found this stuff....
After all that treasure hunting, it was POP-ICE TIME!The pots were in pretty rough shape even after trying to clean so we spray painted them & put them on our new old table after planting flowers in them.I don't know if I like it by the front door-what do you think?Remember these shelves from the previous picture? BLACK SPRAY PAINT can make ALMOST ANYTHING BEAUTIFUL! I think The Captains uncle or dad made these-groovy huh? LOVE THEM in my command center above my 1920 GBG bottle! Here are some more of the GBG pots, unpainted on plant stands my mom gave me last year. A strawberry plant is in the biggest one.Oh, and we got a new grain truck yesterday-you like it? The Captain and his dad will be much safer driving our wheat and beans to the elevator during harvest. With only 320 acres-we don't use a BIG RIG SEMI like the big time farmers do.
The Captain just came in from hours in the field getting the ground ready for the soybeans he will be planting tomorrow.
I feel so blessed to live on this farm.
Thank you Lord for all you have given me!

You ARE so lucky to live on a farm! Love to hear all of the stories and see the latest treasures.
Every time I read your posts - I think what a fun field trip it would be to hang out with you!
Life does seem precious on a farm. I lived on one for a year growing up - long story how I got there. But I remember it vividly 37 yrs later. I remember how fun it was and all the work I did even at such a young age. The sun coming up on a farm was just different and always felt like a new day.
Hugs and love Jenn!

What great finds! That table has endless possibilities! I'm with you...not sure about putting it next to the front door. Hmm...what else were you thinking of doing with it?
oh, I wanna come play! What beautiful treasures you have found! I love the 'new' black shelves! And ONLY 320 acres, sheesh, small potatoes...lol
Oh wow--those are amazing treasures. I LOVE the table at the door. It looks perfect.

You make me want to move to a farm and explore all the old buildings!
I have a table that looks very similar to this. I have plants on it too!
We have a half-ton truck too. They are handy for hauling beans!
Have a great day!

I certainly appreciate it.

I'm loving the treasures! Thanks for sharing! The grain truck is awesome, I grew up on a farm and spent many hours driving on of those. When my brother got married in Manhattan, they left their reception at the old theater on Pontz Ave in a grain truck that looked almost exactly like your new one:) My poor city girl sister-in-law had no idea what she was getting into married my farmer brother. He actually wanted a combine but they wouldn't let him bring it down there:) Sweet memories!
Blessings,
Gayly
