Weekend to Remember!!

WOW!

That's my word for this past weekend.

WOW!

I had always wanted to attend A WEEKEND TO REMEMBER Marriage seminar. A lot of my friends had been to them and RAVED about them. So about a week before it was in Kansas City, I googled it. and BOOM, it was to be in KC the next weekend!! I called Grandma and Papa to see if they could keep the tribe and they had NOTHING PLANNED!! What a blessing! So, I bought the tickets, booked the hotel and then told The Captain we were going! HA HA He's such a good sport! He will do anything for me! LOVE THAT MAN!! We got all the kiddies settled in at my parents and headed out!! I LOVE THIS PIC!!

I didn't really know what to expect but the weekend was FULL of us talking ONE ON ONE with NO interruptions about a TON of stuff we had wanted to talk about but never had time!! 

We learned how to fight healthier, be more patient with our kids and SO MUCH MORE!! We learned that despite the fact that our kids say "EW" they love it when we hug and kiss in front of them so the affection level is NOW ON STEROIDS!!

We ate LOTS of good food. Kansas City BBQ is THE BEST!

Every Meal was a date but on this night we ate Fondue at THE MELTING POT!! 

The Chocolate Fondue was the best!!!

We wrote LOVE LETTERS to each other and RENEWED OUR VOWS!

WOW, it was SUCH A SPECIAL TIME!!

They encouraged us to say them again in front of our family when we got home and let the kids sign our Marriage Covenant and witness it! 

SO, I'm planning a little wedding.

The kids are SO EXCITED!! They are ALL IN IT HA HA 

SO MUCH FUN!

It was WONDERFUL to get home to our kids REFRESHED, RENEWED, ROMANCIFIED and REDEDICATED to each other and them as Better Parents. We are SO IN LOVE and I love that. The Captain is GOD's GIFT to me and I am forever grateful.

If I'm around, Blake can't fall asleep without her hands in my hair.

It's the sweetest thing ever.. EVER!

TRULY a Weekend to Remember!

A FAMILY AFFAIR! Camp Out, Camp In

I had never heard of the American Heritage Girls or Trail Life USA until a couple of months ago. WOW is it a NEAT PROGRAM!! It's VERY SIMILAR to Boyscouts and Girlscouts but it is based around the love for GOD, service to country and community! Our kids loved it the first week! THE BEST PART about it is that ALL our kids but Blake can do it!! And she can start when she is 5. It goes from 5 years old, ALL the way through high school. FINALLY something we believe in that our kiddos can do all together!

We never do baseball, or any other sports really. With 7 kids and only 2 the same age, we would be RUNNING RAGGED and I would be a GRUMPY MOMMY. I just don't want to be one of those people that is SO BUSY running kids around and none of us is enjoying it. 

On Friday afternoon, the older boys hiked 8 miles to the campsite. And they weren't just hiking on the highway, they were hiking cross country. It was about 60 degrees that day but really windy. Brendan headed off with his pack & sleeping bag with 6 other boys.

Saturday, Tori, Wyatt and Jett joined them along with about 30+ people

They learned how to tie knots...

Start a fire several different ways...

Cook over a campfire (I'm told they had 5 different kinds of cobbler that were DIVINE)..

There was even a BIGFOOT SIGHTING!!! And a midnight hike!  They had a great time! It got down to 13 degrees by this morning when they had the long 7 mile hike home.  The little boys came home last night but T and Brendan both stayed all night and  hiked home. T said it ALMOST killed her! HA HA

They woke up to Bacon sizzling and Breakfast Burritos cooking! They had a church service that the kids both loved. It took them a little over 4 hours to hike back. WOW!! I'm SO PROUD of both of them!! THIS IS THE KIND OF STUFF WE WANT OUT KIDS LEARNING!! GOOD, CLEAN FUN with Christ at the center and No technology to be found! I'm so thankful for this opportunity for all of our kids. The leaders are so awesome to invest in our kids. The little ones want to stay next time so The Captain will probably stay with them. Wonder if they would mind if I brought the RV OUT??? LOL  Here they are making the final trek back into town!!

MEANWHILE, back at the farm.... We had our own lil Camp "IN".

I was super impressed with myself and the girls ability to set up the tent.

We cooked our weenies over the fire. We ate on the cowhide rug.

We played UNO, Headbands and Made our own homemade playdoh.

A GOOD time was had by all!! For the record, we didn't make it all night in the tent, not even in the living room. They begged me to tell the scary story of THE BLACK HAND and all got Scared so they ended up sleeping in our room!! HA HA 

LOVE these precious memories made with our kids!! THEY GROW UP TOO FAST!

Mom's to Thirty Six CHILDREN!!

I have a hard time sometimes sharing my heart.. God has been nudging me to share these 7 Spectacular Women with you. Mothers to THIRTY SIX CHILDREN ALTOGETHER!

~One is my Daughter whom I love and treasure to the depths of my soul

~One is my Sister whom I was separated from until I was 25

~One is my Cousin whom I love, respect and adore

~One is a PRECIOUS friend since childhood. Her mom, brought us back together

~THREE are BFF's and fellow adoptive Mama's I met through THIS BLOG!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are SO DIFFERENT in so many ways yet the same.. We live in different cities, we are different ages some in their young 20's and some of us in our upper 40's. Some of us have grown kids, some of us are just starting families. Some of us homeschool, some send our kids to school. Some have one child, some have 10. 

We are the same in wanting 100% what is best for our kids. We are the Same in the fact that we are like sisters whether we are blood or not. GOD intertwined our lives together. YEP, it's that CRAZY WRAP that has formed a kindred sisterhood that has made these 7 ladies some of my dearest friends. THREE OF THEM I had never met in person until this business!!!

These 7 ladies have amazed me! They have all reached leadership levels with It Works. They are Diamond, Double Diamond, and Presidential Diamonds averaging anywhere from $1900-$17,000 a month... These ladies, my sisters are not only WORLD CHANGERS. They are LEGACY CHANGERS. They are changing the legacies of the THIRTY SIX CHILDREN in this photo..... along with many more.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! In the PINK..

I KNOW, I KNOW...I'M LATE!!!! Read all the way through and you'll see why.

The Captain is usually always gone on Mother's Day. This year, I was blessed to have him home. SO EXCITED to go to church as a family & hear the kids special song they had been working on for weeks. Didn't happen....

We were IN THE PINK that day. PINK EYE that is-so we stayed home. I'll admit, I was bummed. Even more bummed the kids didn't remember ONE WORD to that song they learned for weeks.

The Captain took the 6 littles to Wally World and let them all pick out a present for me. I got the following....

• A Clematis plant from T-LOVE IT!
• A Watering can from MyMy
• A necklace from Bean
• Hand sanitizer from Bit But
• Shower Gel from AW Bell
• Bug Spray from WyWy Then I surprised all of them with gifts from me! They freaked! They were so excited! I told them how I felt God had blessed me so much with each of them & that without them I would have no Mothers Day so they deserved gifts too!T loves to take pictures so she did a photo shoot of me with one of the flowers that fell off the plant she gave me! I was lookin' flat ROUGH!Then The Captain cooked steak & shrimp for me on the grill YUMMERS!Then we ate this FABULOUS Chocolate raspberry Wally World Cake! (the reason for the DOUBLE CHIN in the above picture)
  AS IF all that wasn't enough... This pulled in the driveway TODAY! The Nebraska Furniture Mart delivery truck only stirs HAPPY THOUGHTS in my brain.They brought me this.... A BEAUTIFUL LEOPARD PRINT CHAISE from The Captain for Mother's Day. They only deliver to THE STICKS like once every 2 months or I would have had it in time.

I've had a picture of this chaise lounge hanging in my command center for over a year.

AHHHH... I hope to do lots of relaxing, reading my Bible and CHILLIN' in my new chaise. Notice I'm wearing my WILD OLIVE TEE? Great giveaway going on over there! And YES, I pay my kids to rub my head :)

I've had lots of visitors to THE CHAIR already today-PRAISE GOD FOR SCOTCH GUARD & furniture protection plans :) I just LOVE the way it looks in my room. Now all I need is a little table and a lamp and I'm SET!

The Captain is NONE TO THRILLED with the Leopard Print. He actually despises it. Bringing a FROU FROU chair you can't stand into your bedroom-NOW THAT'S LOVE!

Bored? Rainy Day Activities...

We've had a couple good storms at the farm lately...... Can you see it BREWING?

Can you see the tree bending in this picture? We were on the porch seconds earlier THINKING we were going to watch a little shower from our log rockers and then BAM-out of nowhere 60 mph winds, rain and hail. The littles and I RAN in the house. Even Tinkybell-our dog ran in (and she NEVER goes inside). It was scary for a moment.

All the while, The Captain was trapped in the barn painting something. He waved at us right when it started and he said he actually thought that may have been our last vision of him alive. He said the barn was shaking so bad, he thought it was going to blow over.

We got 3 inches of rain out of the deal. Praise God-no hail damage to the wheat.

With a boat load of kids & homeschool done for the year-I MUST have some structured activities for rainy days or we'll all go BONKERS!!!

This morning, Bean and T made a crockpot cake. All by themselves. There are only 2 ingredients. A cake mix and can of pop.

First-put your cake mix in bowl.Next, your 12 ounces of pop.Then you mix, spray crockpot with cooking spray, poor batter in and put something small (we used a kabob skewer) in to vent so the condensation doesn't build and you have a soggy cake.

Cook on low 2-3 hours and VOILA!

Add cool whip to the top when done-SUPER YUM! NEXT ACTIVITY...TIE DYING!I bought a little kit at Wal-Mart & some RIT dye also. We used both. The kit came with everything you needed. Rubberbands & dye-very easy-just add water.After we dyed (WHICH WAS PSYCHO!!) My nail beds are still permanently rainbow. We wrapped our creations in plastic wrap for 8 hours.And VOILA again....
Here's BIT BUTWyWyAW-BELLMyMy"T""Bean"I tried to tell T and Bean that the shirts had to be tied tightly or they would be mostly white-they didn't listen and just tied theirs on randomly. T cried when she saw hers-that's how we learn...

They are all pretty COOL HUH?

Then we made play doh...Heres MyMy stirring the ingredients.

3 cups flour

1.5 cups salt

6 tsp cream of tarter

3 tbsp oil

3 cups water

Dissolve salt in the water.
Pour all ingredients into a large pot.
Stir constantly over medium heat until a ball forms by pulling away from the sides.
Knead the dough mixture until the texture matches playdoh (1-2 minutes).
Store in plastic container.

Should last for at least 3 months.

This recipe made enough for all 6 littles to have a big "WAD."

Seeing the shirts & the play doh, all so different in color, shape, pattern and style made me think of all of us. Down here on earth, we are different, molded by God, just the way he wants us, all with our own personalities, looks, gifts and talents. All of us God BREATHED.
