Darn IRAQ..

The Captain and I met our "new family" this past week. Our new SIL's parents were able to come to Kansas for a visit. Here we all are with the newlyweds. The four of us are COMMITTED to prayer for our children & their marriage. What a blessing that our oldest married someone whose parents are believers! We are thanking God for them & their deep faith! He sure knows what he's doing!
It was a special visit because today, August 29, 2009 at 4pm, our new SIL left for Iraq for 1 year to fight for our country. I thought this flag was so appropriate and will keep it hanging until his safe return. This is a couple that has only been married 2 months...and they are YOUNG & in very in love. Did I mention THEY ARE YOUNG?As they walk this road together with many challenges in their new life together, Please say a little prayer for them that God will be the center of AND protect this marriage despite their separation. And to wrap His arms of protection around my SIL.

We are praying for you guys, your SIL and your daughter, deployment is so hard. We have many friends who have walked this road, please let us know if we can send packages to your SIL, our kids LOVE to send care packages- we just got 2 sent off in the last 2 weeks to Iraq, one to Dr. Levi & the other to Mr. Elliot, two men we are thankful for that are serving our country! We are heading out in the morning for vacation to spend it with Dr. Levi's family while their daddy is away.
Glad school went well, tell me more about the BOB books, they sound awesome!
Blessings,
Gayly

Praying, Jen! They are about to walk a difficult path. May God put his hedge of protection around each of them, each of their hearts, and around their marriage!

Oh dearest friend--my heart just cannot even imagine. I wish it didn't have to be this way. Ug! Standing with you and trusting that God will wrap His arms around your sweet daughter AND protect your son-in-love every day he is away!

Love and hugs.

I will be praying for him while he is overseas! I will also pray for her, I know how hard this can be as I have been away from my husband shortly after we got married. And I was VERY young. But we made it!! :)
They make a very beautiful couple. She is VERY pretty!

Prayers for your newest family member, and his beautiful bride! My brother is in the Navy and it was hard on his wife while he was deployed to Iraq. She is a very creative person though and found many things to do to keep herself busy and not obsess over his safety.
We moved from Milwaukee to Denver by the way. The girls did an AMAZING job tolerating the drive. The second (last) day was a little tougher for Nyah, but she made it through. She's got a cold now though, so that makes her moody too, all the time. And she's two. :D
