The Captain & The Sergeant

I am late in wishing the LOML (love of my life)-THE CAPTAIN a happy BLOGGY birthday!

Here's the birthday boy with his signature chocolate cake NO ICING!

We had a WONDERFUL meal of steak, shrimp, potatoes and Tons of other yummy stuff!

We got him a set of H.arley Davidson rain gear for his upcoming trip to Sturgis!
He was THRILLED!
IF you don't know and thought HD stood for Harley Davidson, IT REALLY stands for HUNDRED DOLLAR. You can't get much of anything with their logo on it for less!

The oldest ALSO came to celebrate his birthday.
My oldest and Youngest, I couldn't be prouder of my 2 beauties!

But even prouder of my SIL-The Sergeant who recently made it back from Iraq!
Welcome HOME!

We were all SO HAPPY to see him home safe and no more TEARS from the oldest.
You know those, "I'm in love and can't live one more hour without you tears?"

SO MUCH to celebrate together
Safety in war..
A new baby...
The birth of one 49 years ago..
homecoming..
having Christ as our Savior..

Here is our entire crew celebrating together.
I am so grateful and love them all so much!

Darn IRAQ..

The Captain and I met our "new family" this past week. Our new SIL's parents were able to come to Kansas for a visit. Here we all are with the newlyweds. The four of us are COMMITTED to prayer for our children & their marriage. What a blessing that our oldest married someone whose parents are believers! We are thanking God for them & their deep faith! He sure knows what he's doing!
It was a special visit because today, August 29, 2009 at 4pm, our new SIL left for Iraq for 1 year to fight for our country. I thought this flag was so appropriate and will keep it hanging until his safe return. This is a couple that has only been married 2 months...and they are YOUNG & in very in love. Did I mention THEY ARE YOUNG?As they walk this road together with many challenges in their new life together, Please say a little prayer for them that God will be the center of AND protect this marriage despite their separation. And to wrap His arms of protection around my SIL.

Our NEWEST Family Member!

THOUGHT IT WAS A BABY DIDN'T YOU??? HA...FOOLED YOU!
Meet our new son-in-law aka SIL :)It was a simple ceremony at the court house...It came on very quickly.
They are young & in love.
Our new SIL leaves for Iraq in September & I think this played a large part in the urgency to commit their love.He was a trooper today!
Less than 24 hours after the I DO's
He not only met my entire side of the family....
But also got broke in by my mom on one of the family traditions-
Here is OUR NEW FAMILY of 10!
The Oldest-my first born had this memorized as a very young child and tonight I pray this over "my baby" and her new husband.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child.
When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.
Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13

Lord we thank you for our new SIL. We pray that you will remain at the center of this marriage ALWAYS and that you will bless their union. We pray that they will turn to you and back to this verse when there are any signs of trouble. Marriage is hard. The only way through it is with YOU at the center. We pray that they live their lives to please you.
