SURPRISE! (for The Captain)

This is the medicine/COLLECT ALL CLUTTER CABINET after most of the stuff was removed. For those of you that DON'T KNOW...THE CAPTAIN HATES CLUTTER!

He also has a difficult time knowing what medicine is for WHAT AILMENT.

He rarely takes medicine. He's a big, strong tough farmer/pilot, HOG rider after all. HE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN MEDICINE!

It seems like every time I'm gone he either needs medicine for himself or the kids and doesn't know where to find it.

SURPRISE HONEY!

This is the cabinet "POST RE-VAMP."

I used 5 things to re-organize.

  • 3 sets 3 plastic yellow baskets=$3 total

  • red ribbon with white polka dots I had on hand

  • cut up index cards

  • bright colored Sharpies
  • hole punch
I put all items needed for each particular ailment together. The Captain gives the bandaids away like candy.

FOR ME, I MUST SEE DRIPPING BLOOD to give away one of these expensive PUPPIES!I kept singing ALL THE Antacid, diarrhea, cough, cold stuffy head fever commercials as I was cleaning. I had some medicines that expired in 1999! In the cabinet next door that was just basically CLUSTERFIED,

I put ALL play-doh, pre-school craft supplies I don't want eaten, books I don't want destroyed and pre-school games.AHHH THAT FELT GOOD, wonder what I'll re-vamp tomorrow!
I almost forgot to show you my MEMORIAL DAY PRESENT from BIT BUT...
ISN'T IT NICE?

Miss you honey, can't wait til you get home!

Sorry about your bite - OUCH! We have a biter too and she is not getting the idea in her precious head that it is NOT nice and it HURTS!

Hugs and love,
Jill

Looks like we're both in clean up mode. That is all I have been doing ALL day!
You are a wonderful wife, friend. Your dearest is blessed to have you.

Oh--love the little gift you got today :)

I love organization - and I hate clutter, too! But you make it look so nice. :)

I love it. I am so like the Captain, I don't like one bit of clutter. I have every drawer in our bathroom organized with containers and boxes and so forth. And I'm also like him in that I don't have a clue what medicine to take for what. Good thing my husband is a pharmacist. I love your organization!

Beautiful work! My hubby laughs, but I simply love to organize as well. Even on the mission field, I somehow find ways to organize our life. Organization makes life more fun because we have more time to just enjoy it!

Besitos (little kisses in Spanish),
Sarah Dawn

Your newly organized cabinets look fabulous! I especially liked the tag that said "sore old body?" - that's the basket I need.

Sorry about the bites, but happy memorial day, anyway!

I have forgotten. . . I momentarily forgot that I used to get bit on a daily basis. . . Because I said that to you--I will probably get bitten today! haha! I know how it feels--boy do I know! May you be blessed with a bite free day today!

p.s. your cabinet looks awesome! What a great feeling!

You did a great job! I think I might just borrow that idea for our medicines. For the past couple of weeks I have been doing some major decluttering and organization, in hopes of being ready to start our foster parenting classes in September. You are such and encouragement!

I am enjoying your blog. I am also Momma to adopted ones and a pilot's wife! Funny thing is, we are shopping for a farm to purchase. I felt a bit like I was on the site of someone who knew me pretty well! I get to say hello tonight because my guy is out. Nice to meet you! Stop by if you get a chance.

BTW-I didn't mention how I found you. I was on No Greater Joy Mom's website and read her plea for curriculum advice. I noticed you were planning to use KONOS this year and I was recommending it to her as I have used it for that past year. You are really going to like it!

I love the way you have organized your medicines!

I'm sure the captain loves it!

Great idea... I think I am going to steal it. We live in an 80 year old cracker house with no storage space and only two closets, not to mention no attic space due varmints that occupy it. I will say the baskets make a huge difference, plus they help make my clutter a little more pleasing to the eyes.

I love it! I am just checking in after almost a week ... and I LOVE your organization! The sad part is that I love to do that kind of stuff and seeing your system of organizing was exciting to me! Awesome idea! Especially because you don't want anyone taking 10 year old meds!
